I need to replace the furling line on my in mast system. This being the in haul line that wraps/worms around the alloy drum. Should be straight forward but I'm unable to un screw the grub screw/bolt that secures the end of the line within the drum!
Probably never been changed 2002 boat, with stainless bolt into alloy drum. Tried impact screw driver, but terrified of damaging drum and bit simply jumps and twists straight out of the head groove damaging the head of the screw bolt.
Any ideas other than leaving unchanged. Does need changing as line is fraying and swelling causing friction on the drum grooves.
