The keel on my 311 continuously knocks whilst lowered, irrespective of power/point of sail (although seems worse down wind). As recommended, I have tried winding up 2/3 turns once fully lowered but with no improvement. Also tried winding up 5, then 10 turns and, again, no noticable improvement. I am planning having her lifted out in May for various routine maintenance items. Is there anything I should be planning to do to improve the situation? Could the knocking be causing any damage to the casing and/or winding mechanism? Any advise or similar experiences would be most welcome.
