Beneteau 321! Is It Any Good??

I am thinking of buying an Oceanis 321 with shallow keel, but have heard reports that they tend to drift sideways when sailing and do not sail well to windward as they only draw 3' 6.
Have I been misinformed or is there a real problem and if so can it be quantified?
Other than this concern the boat is everything we are looking for.
Any advice would be appreciated!
