The previous owner replaced the single line mainsheet block system with the Easymatic mainsheet system - that has a continuous mainsheet emanating form a double lower sheeting block. The system enablies the option to haul on one part or two part mainsheet out haul, ie doubling purchase when under load from 1:3 to 1:6. However, as a consequence, there is a huge amount of mainsheet to deal with in the cockpit and this can be a pain.
I'm thinking of replacing with the original - conventional single mainsheet block set up. Simpler and less rope flying around.
What are the thoughts of the audience here. Benefits disadvantages of either?
The original set up must have been adequate. Yes?
